Consumer Focus, in conjunction with the Energy Saving Trust has published their report into consumer experiences of microgeneration systems. Research conducted by RS Consulting showed that most consumers with installed systems have had a positive experience but identifies lessons for future green energy policy development.
Great news! At the annual MRS Research Awards dinner last night Paul Cussell won the prestigious ASC Young Technologist of the year. The award is recognition of his groundbreaking work in developing the innovative e-luminate online portal. Congratulations Paul, and all the team who worked on e-luminate.
Macmillan have published Improving Access? Report on the implementation of the Cancer Drugs Fund and the development of a value-based pricing system. The stakeholder research underpinning the study was conducted by RS Consulting, and the report has been widely commented on in medical journals and popular press.

Over the last month RS people have pushed their minds and bodies to the limit by undertaking 2 of the most daunting challenges in cycling. In June research director Karin Heath cycled from John O’Groats to Land’s End in just 9 days to raise money for charity. Spurred on by this madness, joint MD Chris Stead defied gravity by pedalling from Bordeaux to the legendary Col Du Tourmalet high in the Pyrenees. Both are recovering well!
In his recent initial public offering letter (IPO) Mark Zuckerberg provided us with two interesting insights into the Facebook philosophy – “Done is better than perfect” and “Move fast and break things.” For me these two statements represent a more general shift in how software is developed and rolled out. Thousands of furious commentators predictably rushed to throw more heat than light on the issue, and left-wing luminaries such as George Monbiot and Charlie Brooker were soon gleefully rubbing their hands at the commentators’ unwitting confirmation of the verdict they decried.
